One of 50 clothbound copies with original artwork from a group of 22 artists; this copy with an original marker drawing to front endpapers by Elizabeth Peyton, executed in multiple colors; SIGNED and dated by Peyton to rear endpaper. Conceived by Dodie Kazanijan on the occasion of the production of Prince Igor at the Metropolitan Opera, this Karma publication contains Vladimir Nabokov's 1960 translation of The Song of Igor's Campaign, illustrated by a series of 28 speculative portraits of the epic poem's eponymous hero. Contributors included the likes of John Baldessari, Jake and Dinos Chapman, Francesco Clemente, Peter Doig, Alex Katz, Raymond Pettibon, Elizabeth Peyton, Peter Saul, Peter Schjeldahl, Dana Schutz, and Charline von Heyl. For the deluxe edition, a number of the artists executed original drawings based on their contributions; this copy being one of at least two worked-over by Peyton. Fine in cloth boards with gilt-stamped design.
