The main volume, Chaucer's Works, 554 pages, features woodcut title borders, initials, frames, and illustrations. Text printed in double columns in red and black ink, fore-edge untrimmed. The companion volume features 85 tipped-in plates from pencil drawings by Edward Burne-Jones. The original of this facsimile was published in 1896 and regarded as the triumph of the Kelmscott press. A spot of marker to top text block of the second volume; both volumes with hints of foxing to text block and a few spots of light rubbing to extremities, else near fine in floral-patterned cloth. Housed in a very good blue wooden slipcase with some shelf wear.
