New York: The College Art Association of America, 1963. First Edition. Slim quarto. Second appearance of Suzy Stanton's paper "On Warhol's Campbell's Soup Can," written in 1962 for Lawrence Alloway's Bennington College course Art and Communications. The first printed appearance was for Warhol's 1962 Stable Gallery exhibition; Alloway sent it to Warhol, who had it reproduced as an announcement for the exhibition. Her essay consists of accounts or reports from 16 imagined visits to Warhol's studio by different students, each addressing Warhol the man, and "the aesthetics of painting soup cans." The 3-page article begins with an original introductory essay by Alloway, then an excerpt of 8 of the vignettes, followed by a full-page reproduction of Warhol's Campbell's Soup Can, 1962. Faint spots of foxing to the page margins, and light wear and soiling to the covers, else near fine in side-stapled illustrated wrappers; uncommon Warholiana.
