Paris: Éditions Verve, 1955. First Edition. Folio. Full-page gravure reproductions. Captions bound in. One of a small number of copies with an added dust jacket printed specifically for a supporter of the book. In this case, the jacket reads: "á Monsieur Henri Sacquet, européen..." In some ways a more compelling book than its companion, The Decisive Moment, and a cornerstone of 20th century photographic literature. (Parr / Badger, v1, 208-209). Light crimps at spine ends, hint of shelf wear, else a fresh and vibrant copy in the distinctive Miro-illustrated boards; the unique cream dust jacket is near fine with a tiny bit of offsetting barely noticeable on the front cover. Only the second copy I have seen in jacket. Housed in a custom clamshell box.
