New York: Josh Smith, 2015. Unique book. Staple and tape-bound quarto. SIGNED by Smith on both covers, and dated 2/4/2015. 118 pages. The covers have been repurposed from a school project on tornadoes and tsunamis that Smith found discarded on a New York City street, and three pages of schoolwork relating to these topics have been bound in. The rest of the book consists of a series of xeroxes, some photographic, with a recurring motif of what appears to be a dirty rubber band superimposed over the pages. As is customary in Smith's unique books, pages from newspapers and magazines, including the New York Times Book Review and Time Out, have been included. A variety of the artist's smudges, staples, doodles, show prints, etc. are also present. Five pages of Time Out have become loose from the binding and are laid in; near fine in hand-titled, staple and tape-bound wrappers.
