Mardi Gras in New Orleans, A Photographic Essay.

New Orleans: Self-published, 1972. First Edition. Quarto. The second book self-published by Mickey Demoruelle of Mardi Gras street photographs; not to be confused with the 1970 publication. Though Demoruelle's first book shared an identical title and also contains the same introduction by David Myders Smith, this is an entirely different collection of photographs. The themes remain, as Demoruelle further documents the youthful, bacchanalian and often homosexual celebrations on the streets of the French Quarter during Mardi Gras. Together, the two books form an indelible portrait of the city's unique party subculture. Small tear top front panel, staples pulling, worn along the spine, creased bottom edge; an almost very good copy in photo-illustrated wrappers. Cult-classic rarely available in commerce.
