The set contains 28 issues, starting at Volume 1, #1, published May 1977, and concludes with Volume 3, #5, published in Summer of 1980. In addition, this complete set includes an unnumbered "One Year Anniversary Issue" and a special "Slash Supplement" published by the New York Rocker in September, 1981. Founded by Steven Samiof and Melania Nissen, Slash focused on the burgeoning West Coast punk scene, including bands such as X, The Germs and The Screamers as well as the emerging New Wave and No Wave movements and new genres of reggae and rockabilly revival. Each issue features bold, striking artwork, most notably by Gary Panter, Diane Gamboa, David Arnoff, and Scott Lindgren; writes included Claude "Kick Face" Bessy, Richard Meltzer, Craig Lee, And Jeffrey Lee. A visually arresting and historically important publication. Uniformly near fine, most issues appear never read. An exceptionally well-preserved run of this scarce publication.
