New York: Printed Matter, Inc., 2006. First Edition. Octavos. An edition of 200 copies, SIGNED by Terence Koh on the laid-in colophon card. Set of four booklets, housed in a black box and resting on a bed of black jellybeans, with an original black plaster sculpture coated with black glitter and a loose colophon card laid into the box. The card features a unique charred "drawing" by Koh along the top edge. An meditation on the intersection between death, destruction, and desire in three parts, the set evinces Koh's innovation as a maker of artists' books. The first booklet comprises a series of small rectangular black-and-white photographs culled from internet resources; the second consists of a sequence of burned pages, each marred by the same circular cigarette burn; the third contains a single small tipped-in image of a suicide victim's hand. This set includes a duplicate copy of the first booklet; Koh's early publications feature minor inconsistencies within editions. Fine in staple-bound wrappers, housed in a fine blind-stamped black box; black colophon sheet as a chunk missing from the top (likely intentional); all other contents in fine condition.
