Millerton: Aperture 1982. First Edition. Oblong quarto. The photographer's first book: a color survey, brilliantly printed in an autumnal tonality, of common American (and Canadian) scenes. These photographs comprise some of Shore's best known images: from street scenes of Philadelphia and Miami Beach, to pictures of empty lots, gas stations, and breakfast on the kitchen table. The photographs, taken between 1973-1981, capture what appears in hindsight to be a particularly innocent and carefree era of American life. (Parr / Badger, v2, 35; Auer 642). Tapped at the spine ends, else fine in a better than very good jacket with light wear to the corners, faint surface impressions to the front cover, and one, quarter-inch closed tear at the top of the back cover; lightly sunstruck at the spine as always.
