Berlin: Verlag Ernst Wasmuth A.G., (n.d. but 1928). First Edition. Quarto. 120 loose gravure plates with text booklet in a folding cloth chemise. Blossfeldt's unintentional conceptual masterpiece, consisting of close-ups of plant forms. One of the highlights of the New Objectivity movement that flourished in Germany between the wars. In a testament to Blossfeldt's aesthetic sensibility, this book, and especially the loose plates of the portfolio edition, have long been popular with interior designers. (Roth 48-49; Parr / Badger, v1, 96). Inner edge of plate 120 lightly creased, else fine in a near fine chemise with the spine gilt lightly dulled. An excellent copy.
