Carnival Strippers.

New York: Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 1976. First Edition. Small oblong quarto. Review copy with the publisher's stapled two-page prospectus and three promotional photographs laid in. Only 25 years old when she began to photograph and interview strippers from New England's carnival circuit, Meiselas' landmark first book ranks as one of the most enduring documentaries of the past fifty years. (Roth 238-239). Tiny crimps at the spine ends, else fine in an almost near fine jacket with very small nicks repaired by tape at the verso and a bit of negligible amateur restoration with small losses from the nicks touched up with black marker. Still a pleasing example of an uncommon title in the cloth edition, and only the second copy I've handled with promotional material.
