Like Alvermann's first book, Algerien, this pocket-sized work is a masterpiece of imagery and design, easily rivaling the best European photobooks of the era, and incorporating elements of graphic design, photomontage, and simple brutal juxtaposition that are almost conceptual in nature. A cheap paper stock adds to the commotion. Just about fine in laminated, photo-illustrated boards, with none of the endemic rubbing to the front cover.
