Millerton, NY: Aperture (1972). First Edition. Quarto. First issue with "Two Girls in Identical Raincoats". Designed and edited by Doon Arbus and Marvin Israel, and championed by John Szarkowski, who organized the retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art for which this book was commissioned. With a 1973 SIGNED letter from Szarkowski to curator and museum director Thomas Garver tipped-in. The letter talks about Szarkowski's astonishment at the success of the show, and includes a two-page xerox on MoMA stationery of the text of the wall labels that accompanied the exhibition. Copies of this book with any historical significance are uncommon.
