Book Shop
Most people come to the Hamptons to take advantage of our beautiful beaches and revel in the glorious summer light. Artists, writers, thinkers, financiers, and wine barons have long been drawn to this area for its fertile soil and creative spirit. In the past few years East Hampton has seen a cultural revival, with several new galleries and book stores springing up around town. We moved into our present location in October 2010, carrying on the literary and artistic traditions that have flourished at 87 Newtown Lane since 1992. Visitors are encouraged and cared for year round. An espresso or prosecco awaits, as does a gallery filled with cool books and art.
Harper’s Books, founded in 1997, is a bookshop and gallery located in East Hampton, New York. We specialize in rare photography, art, and literary books, with particular emphasis on association copies, landmark items in exceptional condition, and unique examples of work personalized by artists and writers. In addition to our book business, we have year round shows of fine art and photography, and we exhibit at several international art and book fairs, including Paris Photo, AIPAD, and the New York Book Fair. Harper’s Books is a member of the ABAA.
We are open to the public everyday: Monday through Saturday, from 10:00 to 6:00, and Sunday, from 11:00 to 5:00.
